Tickets are now available to see Russ Millions at Rock City!
You may know UK rapper Russ Millions, also known as Shylo Batchelor Ashby Milwood, for going viral in December 2018. His single ‘Gun Lean’ (released under Virgin Records) reached number 9 on the UK singles chart. Subsequently becoming the first ever UK drill track to reach the top 10. This had never been done before.
Not only did the track become viral for its sound, it also started a dance craze that had the public in a chokehold. The guardian labelled it as number 10 on their ‘Greatest pop music dance crazes’ list. Footballers such as Jesse Lingard took part in the craze, alongside famous Tiktokers around the world.
In the following year he achieved number 7 in the UK top 10 singles again, with the song ‘Keisha & Becky’. Later on, the British Phonographic Industry declared it platinum.
Most recently, in 2021, he finally achieved a number 1 on the charts with the song ‘Body’.
With the launch of his new label to support other artists, he says:
“I’ve got my own record label so I just want to help out other people and I want to get my label to a place where I can do that,” the community-minded Russ explains. “I don’t want to be the rapper or the star all the time. I want to be able to step back eventually and just run my label. That’s my goal.”
