Splendour Festival confirms postponement for 2020 and announces official date for 2021 Wollaton Park, Nottingham, Saturday 24 July 2021
Splendour Festival has today confirmed that 2020’s event will no longer be going ahead as planned. This is in light of the current situation with COVID-19, the festival has been postponed until next year.
Statement
A statement from the organiser:
“Throughout these difficult months, we’ve been cautiously optimistic about Splendour Festival going ahead as planned. However, it is now clear that we cannot go ahead with Splendour Festival 2020, and so have made the heart-breaking decision to postpone this year’s event for the first time in our 12 year history.
When we started the festival in 2008 our aim was to put on a fantastic music event for the people of Nottingham and beyond: we’re extremely proud of what we’ve achieved, growing from 5000 to 25,000 people and bringing international superstars to Wollaton Park. We will be back on Saturday 24 July 2021 with the same aim we’ve always had, and we really hope you can join us.
If you already have a ticket for this year’s event we’d urge you to hold on to your ticket, which will be valid for 2021’s festival. This helps to support Splendour and all the fantastic musicians who play at it. We’ll be counting down the days and are already looking forward to having a huge party with you! We understand you’ll have a lot of questions, please rest assured your ticket provider will be in contact shortly with full details.
Slendour wouldn’t be what it is without you all and we’re so grateful for the positivity and fun you bring every year!
Stay safe everyone and we’ll see you in July 2021. Team Splendour”
