Glaswegian band CHVRCHES found their synth-pop sound and hit the scene in 2011. In March 2013 they released ‘Recover’, an EP which contained the hit tracks ‘The Mother We Share’ and ‘Recover’ which have millions of streams worldwide.
2012 saw the bands debut song ‘Lies’ rise to fame, rising straight to number one on The Hype Machine MP3 charts. Moreover, it had consistent play on Soundcloud and BBC Radio 1 gave it masses of air time. Expectedly, when releasing their debut single ‘The Mother We Share’ it was also a huge hit with the public and industry alike. Essentially, this led to their signing with Glassnote Records after founder Daniel Glass saw the band play live. In 2014, the single was featured in the opening video for the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony in Glasgow, Scotland.
As a result when September came around the band had many accomplishments, such as performing on ‘Later… With Jools Holland’.
The next year in September the band released their debut studio album ‘The Bones Of What You Believe’ with Virgin and Goodbye Records.
