Officially entering the music scene in 2016, Birmingham rapper MIST created a sound that couldn’t be ignored. Like many artists, he started out by releasing numerous mixtapes, #1Take freestyles and a series of P110 videos. Collaborating with his fellow Birmingham producer Shadow, the duo put together the track ‘Smokey’; reaching over a million YouTube views overnight.
2016 proved to be a break-through year for MIST. Becoming a social media sensation, appearing on Charlie Sloths ‘Fire in the Booth’ BBC 1Xtra Show; and releasing his successful EP – M I S to the T. Known for his Punjabi lyrics in ‘Karlas Back’ and quality visuals in ‘Ain’t the Same’, MIST continues to raise the bar.
Having a sold-out UK tour at the start of 2017, he performed at Koko, London and Manchester O2 Ritz. Later, featuring on the cover of LinkUp TV’s Issue 2 magazine meant his recognition on the scene was widely acknowledged. And recently partnered with the Levi Music Project on a two-week workshop for their expansion in Birmingham, he’s shared his experience and advice in the industry to young aspiring musicians.
Releasing dates for his Scandinavian Tour, nominated for three GRM Rated Awards, and two MOBO Awards, marks the end of this successful year.
