Born quietly during the pandemic, The Karma Effect began as a clear vision in the mind of vocalist Henry Gottelier, a sound he was determined to bring to life. From their organic, roots-driven debut to the standout follow-up Promised Land, the band now step forward with their third record, the album they’ve always set out to make.
This latest release is their most complete and refined work to date: leaner, louder and heavier, packed with determination and delivered on a truly larger-than-life scale.
Despite line-up changes behind the scenes, with Nathan Keevil (bass), Alan Taylor (drums) and Tom Pitt (keys) joining the fold, the band have emerged stronger than ever. What could have been a setback instead became a turning point, injecting fresh energy and new perspectives into the project.
The new line-up came together at The Hive Rooms near Gatwick Airport in July 2025, where they locked in the sound of their upcoming album Cruel Intentions.
