The Selecter are a a two tone ska revival band from Coventry, UK. They were originally active in the late 70s to early 80s and are probably most well known for their singles ‘three minute hero’ and ‘gangsters’ and ‘on my radio’. The Selecter were one of the more popular ska bands of the time having a string of hits that all peaked high in the UK charts.
The Selecter reformed in 1991 with Pauline Black and Arthur ‘gaps’ Hendrickson both from the original line up doing vocals. Noel Davies reformed for a while but now has his ‘Noel Davies AKA The Selecter’ band he plays with. In 2011 their was confusuion between the two bands but Pauline Black secured the trademark of ‘The Selecter in June. Their newest album ‘Made in Britain’ was released in Sept 2011.
