Rock City the survival tour 7

THE SURVIVAL TOUR

Can you imagine CYCLING from Newcastle to London? In October?! What would make you want to do something so crazy…

Well, how about the destruction of the UK’s music and events industry? Yep! That’d just about do it.

That’s the situation that The Survival Tour riders Mike, Harry, Mark, Steve and Tyler have found themselves in.

As part of #WeMakeEvents, the group of absolute heroes have created a charity event that will see them cycle from one end of the UK to the other, all to raise awareness of the struggle the industry is currently facing. With Covid-19 still on the rise and financial support due to run out this month, the music and events industry needs more support if it is to survive, hence The Survival Tour.

The route kicked off in Newcastle on October 3rd, and the riders will work their way down the UK via more than 50 venues and festival sites, including Rock City! They are due to finish up in London on October 18th. The whole ride is to symbolise what would have been the start of the touring season, with artists due to head out on the road for their Autumn tours. Crosslands have very kindly supplied the guys with their very own tour bus, which the two-wheeled rockstars will use for much-needed sleep!

The Survival Tour route – over 1500km, further than Land’s End to John O’Groats!

Their very own tour bus is complete with a kit trailer.

Day 1 of the tour kicks off in Newcastle.

The guys are making an incredible trip and an amazing gesture. The UK’s music and events industry really are in need of serious help. In times like this, we must pull together and find a way through. If you love what we and others do, please show us support in whatever way you can. Especially now that we need the government to provide more assistance. We appreciate all the love and support across the board.

If you’re a cyclist and you fancy joining the Survival Tour for a section of the ride, you can register via their event page. Obviously, it is carefully organised for track and trace and safety measures.

Or, if you prefer to take part from home, you can always donate via their Giving page, or give them a good ol’ follow on Facebook and Instagram!

Find out more about their campaign and the tour on the #WeMakeEvents website here.
